March 24 post
Kia Ora again everyone!
Views from the beach w/ our home stay family where we ate fish and chips!
It has been a while since I last posted! It has been a crazy busy past week sand I will continue to update you guys on classes (Although I am getting a tad bit behind ha).
All has been very well still here in New Zealand. It is starting to become autumn which means cooler weather is coming through. We had one pretty cold day this past week and I underestimated the cold temperatures here in NZ.
This past weekend we had a homestay which involves staying at a kiwi family’s home for the weekend. One of my classmates, Skylar and I got to go together and stay with an amazing family. They had three kids who were shy at first but warmed up to us more at the end of the weekend. They also had a two-month-old baby who was the most precious and I got some baby cuddles which was the best. The couple was so incredibly kind and hospitable to us. They took time to talk to us at the end of the night when the kids were asleep. They prayed for us and brought us along with their everyday life. The way they talked to each other and to their kids just reflected Jesus. They both have such servant and kind hearts.
Views from their home!! (beautiful Mt. Fyffe)
It was so much fun to be able to spend time in their home and truly understand someone else’s culture. It always been beautiful to learn and experience someone else’s home like that. I loved learning about what they do on weekends and defiently made me think back to my young childhood!
I am super behind on posts, but this is one I had saved for a while! Things are still beautiful and amazing down here!
Non-native pines but makes me think of Iowa/Midwest!
